Stories of science unknown to large animals, as described resembling prehistoric dinosaurs usually take place Actions Africa or South America. Less well-known stories about meetings with living dinosaurs that occurred in Indonesia and on Papua New Guinea. For many years, not excluding our days, reports of a strange creature that lives on the Indonesian island of Nusa Kambangan and which the locals called the word “Cavuk.”
Dinosaur cavuk
According to eyewitnesses, Kavuk looks like a crocodile, but moves on the hind limbs. In appearance, it is practically a velociraptor. Some say kawuk is simply a large lizard like Komodo dragon, or giant Indonesian monitor lizard. But Komodo dragon, like other large lizards, does not walk on two, but on four legs! ..
The “growth” of the cavuk is approximately one and a half meters; also it is known that he hunts at night. However, the word “hunt” in this the case is not entirely appropriate, since kavuk is predominantly scavenger. They say he likes to tear graves in cemeteries, to eat corpses. Kavuk is considered very aggressive being, meeting him is life threatening.

Interestingly, this monster was observed for almost all of the twentieth century; of modern cases is quite indicative the story that happened in 2014 A local fisherman named Heri went to the cemetery with friends to visit the deceased recently familiar. Suddenly the men noticed that around the grave, to which they were heading, some obscure, large lizard-like creatures. Afraid that these creatures will dig up the dead body, people reburied their friend away from the forest. When Heri told about this story, skeptics, of course, stated that the fisherman and his friends saw just big lizards. Heri, however, claimed that he knew perfectly how the lizards looked, and cemetery the guests were definitely not them.
Is it possible that kavuk is a theropod surviving to our time? (predatory dinosaur) like a velociraptor? Yes, quite, in Indonesia and today there are many places where a man’s foot has not yet set foot. True, according to modern data, most theropods (even tyrannosaurus) there were feathers, and in kavuk not one of their eyewitnesses saw.
Flying Dinosaur Orang Bati
Another alleged dinosaur – the flying dinosaur – lives on Indonesian island of Seram. Locals often talk about creatures similar to winged monkeys. Rumor has it that these creatures hide among volcanic dumps, and at night they can fly into the village and kidnap human babies. They have leathery, featherless black wings and brightly burning in the night eyes.

Testimonies of these monsters even keep records of Christian missionaries who sailed here since the XV century. One of the last who saw the huge winged dinosaur was English Aboriginal missionary Tyson Hughes. This happened meeting in 1987 Skeptics decided that Hughes was watching some big bats, like a flying fox. But these and other winged wings for the local tribes are familiar animals, often serving people as food. Another thing is a black-winged monster with a monkey body, pointing at all fear and received a special name – Orang Bati. It is possible that it really is an ancient pterosaur since the jungle of the island of Seram are virtually unexplored, expeditions come here rarely.
Papua New Guinea Dinosaurs
This state is inhabited by wild and warlike tribes of people. By for this reason, the local jungle is also almost unexplored. And between those in a province called western new britain can to meet a very unusual creature, according to descriptions similar to therizinosaurus – bipedal large dinosaur, forepaws which is crowned with huge claws. The last time this creature was observed in 2005 Some man named Robert, I saw a giant animal in the jungle, reaching 12-15 meters in length, two-legged, with a long leathery neck and head, like a turtle. It was not predatory, and so Robert not injured at this unusual meeting. According to the man, a huge lizard peacefully ate the leaves of coastal thickets, and then entered the river and sailed away. When an eyewitness was given a book with images dinosaurs, he pointed to a therizinosaurus, which is larger than others he looked like a giant met in the jungle.
In the same year, the newlyweds Simon and Margaret Patolkit, resting on shore of a small deserted island of Dililo, saw in the water a reptile that was larger in size than what Robert observed. In length, it was no less than 20 meters, had a long neck with a small head and in appearance was a typical dinosaur. Monster rose briefly from the water, and then disappeared again.
