Elderly couple living in English ceremonial county Greater Manchester, recently called the police just to to have a tea party with the new law enforcement officers. Of course, cops would never come for such a reason, therefore, retirees went to the trick.
Ninety-five year old Fred and Doris Thompson living in Middletown, so desperate from loneliness that they decided to deceive the police and lure them into your home with a trick to mingle and drink tea. According to the spouses, their children and grandchildren have long moved to live in continental Europe, all friends have already died, and young neighbors refuse to communicate with the elderly.
Doris called 999 (local police phone) and reported that her husband became ill. Law enforcement officers decided go and check if a man needs medical attention. When the two officers arrived on call, it turned out that Fred was feeling himself is quite normal for an almost hundred year old man. Doris admitted that in fact her husband is not physically ill, but morally, since the couple did not really communicate with other people already many months. Law enforcement officers decided not to charge the elderly couple with a fake call and agreed to drink tea with senior citizens. During a makeshift tea party British police told the Thompsons about their work, about family problems, shared information about the situation in the city, as well as an hour listening to inconsistent stories of the elderly. Fred and Doris later told curious reporters that they were immensely Glad to chat with someone from strangers.
