19-year-old Norwegian Oscar Lundahl caught fishing fish of strange appearance.

A student who came to the lake to fish was shocked by caught “monster” with huge eyes. From surprise young the man barely stayed in the boat.

As it turned out later, the fisherman pulled out a representative of the species Chimaeras Monstrosa Linnaeus. According to scientists, this fish has genetic similarity to sharks, and the age of this species is about 300 million years.

This fish is not so easy to catch, as it lives on more than a kilometer deep, and very rarely rises to the surface. The Norwegian caught her at a depth of about 800 meters.

For its unusual appearance, this individual is called “European chimera. “In winter, it still rises to the surface, and it is found in the waters of the Atlantic and in the Barents Sea. Maximum the length of this creature reaches 1.5 meters. Scientists consider this type of endangered.

Unfortunately, the “monster” died from a sharp pressure drop, and the young man later said that the fish was very tasty.
