The OGPU troops were engaged not only in the protection of the camps (about which in the first the reader will remember the turn). The fight against counter-revolutionary performances, protection of strategically important facilities, liquidation gangs, the fight against basmachi and most importantly – the protection of the state borders.
From 1920 to the present day, the borders of our country have been guarded Chekists: border troops of the OGPU, NKVD, MGB, KGB, FSB. It’s always there were elite troops, where even ordinary soldiers were selected individually, not speaking of commanders! In 1941, border outposts, to take which the Nazis took 20-40 minutes to hold for days. Among the forward units of the Wehrmacht there was a secret order: fighters in green caps not to be taken prisoner. They didn’t take them, because they didn’t gave up.
In the border troops of the NKVD

Rear Guard must stand up to the latter and has no right to retreat without an order at any circumstances. Naumov with his border guards did not retreat and therefore, he soon became surrounded.

IN At the end of autumn 1941, Naumov’s detachment contacted Sumy partisans. The people’s avengers have their own laws. Captain’s sleeper in the buttonhole meant nothing to them. Naumov, like everyone else, was credited into the squad as an ordinary fighter. It was necessary to command others still to prove. And Naumov proved, becoming the head of a battle group, detachment commander, chief of staff of a partisan formation of 7 detachments, and in January 1943 – the commander of this connection.

Blown up bridges, destroyed garrisons, burnt warehouses, newly organized partisan detachments – the emergence of the Nahum it was always sudden and never went unnoticed. Already in late February, Naumov received a radiogram from the partisan headquarters movements that raid aroused the interest of the High Command. March 7th Naumov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
The hardest battles were in the Vinnitsa region. Naumov has no idea had that paved the route right through Hitler’s headquarters. When in Berlin learned that the partisans are heading straight for the Wolf’s Den, Tank and aircraft abandoned the Naumov’s compound. However failed to destroy the group.
