Some geneticists suggest that snow legends man (yeti) gave birth to prehistoric polar bears that are like It was believed that they had already become extinct. Others are sure they can finally solve the mystery of one of the most enduring myths in all Cryptozoology – Himalayan Bigfoot. Throughout centuries since Alexander the Great, researchers tirelessly searched for yeti, starting with the snowy mountain regions of the Himalayas, ending with the eastern valley of the Indus. In 1950, such an authoritative and respected scholarly man like Sir Edmund Hillary claimed to have personally seen traces of the legendary beast. Today with Using DNA analysis, scientists decided to study two different samples. wool, supposedly owned by the yeti, and finally to prove or disprove the very fact of its existence. First sample taken from a strange animal shot by a hunter near 40 years ago in the region of northern India in the place of Ladakh, and the second found in the forest of Bhutan 10 years ago. However geneticist Brian Sykes of University of Oxford and without analysis claims that these fragments wool belong to the prehistoric sight of the polar bear, which previously lived in Norway. In the early 1970s, a French climber collided in the western part of the Himalayas with a hunter who carried the remains of a bear-like animal. Climber saved the sample. the wool of the mysterious beast, which he later handed over to Sykes. Having spent analysis, sykes found that genetically fingerprints of this animals belong to the ancient species of polar bears. This species inhabited in Norway from 40,000 to 120,000 years ago. His DNA per 100 percent matches recent wool samples taken in Ladakh and Bhutan. Representative of this prehistoric species of bears that considered extinct for more than 40,000 years, just some 10 years back calmly walked through the forest. Sykes sure Himalayas today are the habitat of the descendants of the ancient breed polar bear. However, to interpret the final results much more work will be required. Most likely yeti – brown bear subspecies, result of hybridization between brown bear and a descendant of an ancient white species. Moreover, recently scientists found that polar bears and brown bears are more closely connected than previously thought. However, further studies to determine if yetis are really exist…
