In 2007, the Neryungri district of Yakutia was invaded unusual giant birds attacking deer herds and exterminating deer. Director of MUE “Iengra” even contacted the administration district asking for night vision sights for extermination feathered monsters. There was a resonance in the press and the issue was resolved on government level, but a definite answer to the question – to what species these birds belong to was never found. But scientists say – such a giant bird in Yakutia allegedly exists – belong to golden eagles. And even bring the amount – within 200 individuals. The Yakut taiga is often compared with the sea, or, even, with by the ocean – according to occupied territory and secrets hidden in the bowels forests. One of these secrets is giant birds.
MESSAGE OF DEATH
Often the unknown and incomprehensible gives birth to among the Yakut superstition and fears. Here is a typical example – a story employees of the Yakutsk Research Institute of Tuberculosis (YANIIT) Stepanida Kolesova (last name changed). This happened in the summer of 1998 in Ust-Yansky area of Yakutia. Stepanida’s father – Petr Petrovich with a relative drove on horseback from the village of Sayylyk to inspect hayfields land. They were already quite far from the village, and when passing a swampy place, a hundred meters away they saw something similar to silhouette of a bear. Of course, at first they decided it was a bear, for in these places there cannot be another animal like sizes. “Bear” behaved calmly, clearly not afraid of people, and people especially not worried: the danger from this animal seems to be did not come out. It did not behave aggressively, although it observed by people. But suddenly the silhouette started up and spread to the sides … spread wings to the sides! It was a giant bird! Now not only people, but the horses were really scared: when the bird straightened, her growth appeared to be a meter and a half, and the scope wings about four meters. But the bird did not take off, but again folded wings and seems to be just looking at people. Now her kind resembled the silhouette of an owl – without a particularly prominent beak and practically without a neck. What color was the plumage – it was not possible to find out, just dark gray silhouette on a background of green grass. Upon returning home when Peter Petrovich, still seized with superstitious fear and horror, in he told the household about the nightmare bird in details, he I emphasized that this meeting is not good, I will soon be thin: never before, neither in this area, nor in other villages, about a similar they did not hear the bird and the ear, and there was no talk. In the same year Petr Petrovich died, his brother passed away the next summer.
GIANT BIRD NEST
Memories of friends of hunters. They talked about it. an incomprehensible phenomenon is almost the same thing. But, as a rule – two absolutely identical testimonies do not exist: these friends there were discrepancies in describing the size of the bird, and even years events they differed, which is no wonder: diary entries none of them led, and it is unlikely they assumed that these memories of anyone interested. It was the end of winter years ten years ago, at the beginning of the millennium. Three comrades: Fedoseev Nikolay, Markov Leonid Anatolyevich, and Roman Belan hunted moose. For several days we traveled through the taiga in the UAZ. Already passed enough hundreds of kilometers and around noon went to the taiga area Byas Köl. In the village of the same name they took on board a familiar guide named Ivan, and, passing by another lake, they saw something wrong, in no way consistent with some established human concepts. This “wrong” was empty a bird’s nest on top of a tall old pine two hundred meters to west of the car. Ordinary, or rather due to size – unusual bird’s nest. Roman stopped the car, began to queue to look through binoculars – the nest was clearly empty, abandoned. Curiosity got the better, the hunters got out of the car and, drowning on the hips in the snow, went to the pine tree. Pine huge, tall, unusually thick; it is seen that the ancient and begins to dry out; rises above the forest and at the very top is a nest. It looks like an ordinary bird. But here sizes! The nest on the top of the tree is like a giant umbrella, so the ground under the tree is not particularly covered with snow, here and there they stick out cleanly gnawed bones of animals. Explored the place – under a layer of snow blockage of bones. And not some trifle – hares, ducks, but rather large bones – deer, wild goats, moose. By itself clear – bones under the pine – the result of having a nest is terrible giant bird. In the nest itself could freely fit three to four adults. The nest is not built blade of grass, and from brushwood, thick branches, fallen leaves!
WINGED MAN?
In 2007, Eduard Stepanenko and our acquaintance Roman Belan were on the hunt, and again at UAZ. At about lunch we went to the taiga Luteng area is on the border of Khangalass and Aldan areas of Yakutia. It was a clear winter sunny day, the car was slow advancing along a snowy country road. Suddenly on top cars, momentarily obscuring the sunlight, something flickered, – low, above the machine itself and further along the tops of the trees a certain object flew soundlessly. It was a giant bird! Friends taken aback, the car was stopped and the engine turned off. After some time the bird was out of sight. I must admit, at first Edik it seemed – a hang glider flew by. But in the remote taiga and more in the cold frost – hang glider? When the object went away from blinding sun, rare and small in amplitude became distinguishable flap the bird’s wings. Roman at first from surprise too an example of a winged man, as he later said, “almost Icarus “- this is because the sizes are quite consistent. And so far then, by the way, he’s not sure what it could be, since in gray-ash silhouette, he did not distinguish beak. In the testimony of friends there are also differences in the description of the size of the wingspan: Roman – four to five meters, Edik – about four. But torso size stable in description – from an adult! So winged the creature rapidly declined and hid behind the treetops. There was a crack of broken branches – in the silence of the winter taiga sounds perfectly audible, – this predator noticed the game, and, without giving the opportunity pursued prey to hide, not knowing the way went to decline. Questions arise: firstly – what about the giant bird after a hearty meal can take off from close, due to nearby trunks, space? The answer is simple – go a step to an open place, even, possibly, with prey in a powerful beak. For a flying predator of such size and power, even on earth, probably, there will be no enemies. And secondly: how is such a bulky creature with a decrease in heights not afraid to get hurt about broken tree branches? The thing is, that a large taiga bird has very strong feathers. For instance, it is often simply impossible to remove the capercaillie with a small fraction and even buckshot: small shells fly off from feathers as from armor. You can only remove a rifle bullet or a powerful jacquin. What really to talk about such flying giants – the fortress of their huge feathers certainly comparable to bone. Abduction of children
Among hunters, such encounters with giant birds, but nobody saw them near. They fly either at very high altitudes, or, most often, appear suddenly on ultra-low altitude, and, seizing the prey, they immediately disappear. So that no one has yet been able to accurately describe their appearance. At the rumor level the opinion that the length of the claws of these flying predators is within 10 see, – and this, admittedly, a dangerous and formidable weapon like that knives. 
Photo from open sources on June 24, 2013 in the village of Sinsk Republic of Yakutia, two three-year-old girls disappeared – Ayana Vinokurova and Alina Ivanova, who came from Yakutsk to visit their grandmothers. By alarm the same day, the entire population of the village was raised to their feet, operational investigative bodies of the republic, volunteers. But the search did not give results. The dog brought to the search led up to roads where the track simply broke off. Grandfather of one of the girls said that they disappeared in a period of time – 15 minutes. Investigative authorities are inclined to three versions: the girls themselves went to forest, were killed in an accident and the criminal version. Using a polygraph, all the villagers previously convicted were interviewed. persons, people with mental disorders but no results Unfortunately, these events did not bring. It is believed that the population of the village is frightened by something and hides something. Like the last hope were attracted and psychics, they were inclined to believe that girls are in the taiga, so riot police literally dug the earth where the psychics pointed out. But it didn’t give results. All Yakutia pressed and prayed to God so that the girls still found. Now about my version: Once in the summer, my the family watched an ordinary kite trying to steal a yard a little dog. But he didn’t succeed – we interfered. But it could have happened, and we would have known nothing! Abduction version children in Sinsk a giant bird – why not? It seems implausible. And the involvement of psychics in the search and their opinion – believable? However, psychics in the summer were inclined to believe that children are in the forest, there was an unheard opinion of anyone that they are somewhere in the rocky terrain. Sinsk is located in surrounded by taiga on the banks of the Lena and Blue rivers. 
Photos from open sources On the Lena are famous rocks – Sinsky pillars, and many wooded islands. On the Sinsky pillars many eagles nest, secretive birds. In the taiga, on the islands, and on dangerous mysterious individuals – giant can nest on rocks birds. At least the huge nests described by the Yakut hunters can easily be found on the cliffs and forests from the side search plane or helicopter. Andrey Efremov
