– I believe that the question of the benefits or harms of GMOs is so extensive that it is more political than ordinary. At all in this area a very large role is assigned to politics. After all science does not deal with concrete answers; it seeks answers, explores and tries to find the truth, but it is not the bearer of absolute truth. Therefore, this is not the role of science. – Do you think that GMOs are not yet sufficiently studied to open commercial sale?

In the US, the population believes that this the question is well studied and they are much less worried about it about. Here, of course, we need to study each specific case, examine a single product. I hope that in Russia the debate on this topic will be less rigid and less polarized than in Europe, because the matter has already reached such questions as genetically modified foods have no relations.
