If the Loch Ness monster is completely harmless, then there is still no one never eaten, unless it scared, then a similar monster, living in Kazakhstan’s Kok-Kol Lake, is far from being so shy, but therefore unsafe. It is no coincidence that local residents, including researchers and local historians do not seek to meet him, even if this is of some interest to science.

Kok-Kol Lake is very beautiful in itself, it was not for nothing that it was named exactly so, because in Russian it means – Blue Lake. Also no less beautiful majestic mountains surround this clean body of water, and here it is fraught with something terrible and sinister. The first is the lake is considered bottomless. When people hear this, then alone in horror they round their eyes, others begin to grin skeptically, they say, like it’s without a bottom, but it cannot be like that.

No, the bottom, of course, should be, but it doesn’t in some places served by an echo sounder, besides its incredible roughness suggests that this body of water through underground rivers is connected to other huge water reservoirs, most likely underground. If you add to this the glacial origin of the lake, that’s all his other secrets become more understandable and at least somehow explainable.

Since, secondly, Lake Kok-Kol behaves strangely. On his the surface there is a fantastic ripple, in no way connected with the wind, then there are strange funnels that suck in all trash from the surface. Finally, the creepy ones are constantly heard here, inexplicable sounds, not to mention that on the lake animals and people often disappear.

The latter is attributed to the serpentine monster that lives in the lake. Locals call it the water spirit or Aydahar. This snake periodically pops up on the surface of Kok-Kol, and then trouble to someone who is in the reach of his terrible mouth. Moreover, the natives say, Aydahar can crawl out for his prey even ashore.

The lake spirit constantly requires sacrifice

Sometimes this happens in front of witnesses. So the local shepherd once grazing sheep near the lake, which at that time bathed people. Suddenly a strange ripple passed through the surface of the reservoir. And then the swimmers screamed wildly. The shepherd only noticed the serpentine bends monsters in the place where people were just, and then came silence – he no longer saw the monster or the people.

Another case about a meeting with Aydahar was told by a local historian A. Pechersky. Like every inquisitive researcher, he did not particularly believe in the monster Kok-Kolya, and therefore once went with his son to the lake, to test or refute this legend. On their happiness, they not yet had time to sail far from the shore in a boat, as noted strange activity of birds in the distance. Suddenly in that place appeared serpentine monster, which was heading towards the father and son. They barely managed to swim to the shore and run away from the water. When they looked around again, they realized that the monster did not become them pursue, but swam away, hiding in the depths of this bottomless pond. As Pechersky later wrote, the serpent was no less fifteen meters long, dark, with a huge head and some hypnotic eyes that made you scared and at the same time strive to merge with this look.

Aborigines also say that they often witnessed how Idahar lies in wait for a gape or who comes to drink to the lake the animal drags him to the bottom without any labor. So here it is scary stories are born that even scientists are made to believe into a monster. Some of the researchers believe that perhaps this ancient reptile somehow preserved from the period dominance of dinosaurs on Earth. Maybe she doesn’t even live in Kok-Kul itself, and in the underground lakes connected with this beautiful blue pond …
