This huge and the largest mole in the world (as it is sometimes called) can be found in the tropical and subtropical forests of South Asia and southern China. They have the largest area the surface of the wings of any insect is about 400 square cm. India Atlas Moth bred to produce silk thread – they produce brown silk, which is a bit like wool. Female Atlas families are larger and heavier than the male. The ends of the wings of females hooked and some believe her wings look like complete snake head with eyes, to scare away predators. Their bodies are hairy and small compared to their wings. They vary in colors, with different shades of brown. 
A photo from open sources Due to its size, the Atlas peacock-eye (this is its correct name) practically does not fly, and if fly then very slowly and awkwardly, but nonetheless, she is one of the largest beautiful butterflies, and insects in general.
