If we talk about the reasons why humanity knows so little about life of the sea, then they lie in the fact that its depths we still do not able to explore – modern civilization does not yet have such technology.
The depths of the water attract and frighten us
It’s probably no secret that life on Earth originated in sea. Moreover, land now occupies only a quarter territory of the planet, and it can only be considered as 2D projection, while the ocean is a voluminous world that goes into individual places to a depth of eleven kilometers (Mariana cavity). Although humanity still can not with confidence say there are even greater depths, not to mention prospective underground water reservoirs at great depths (1000-1500 kilometers), which are most likely connected by passages with Oceans. And there may also be life (more recently, scientists proved that such reservoirs are present in the earth’s crust, and water reserves there are hundreds of times greater than in the oceans).

And why, we in our human pride, think that in this the vast water world cannot reason exist? Just because that we ourselves are hardly lowering on the bathyscaphe to a depth of six kilometers, where, in our understanding, all life ends. Us easier to fly into space and even the moon for four hundred thousand kilometers from Earth, than go down ten kilometers under the water. Yes, and there we are already see nothing due to the inability to illuminate the icy darkness around the bathyscaphe at any acceptable distance, allowing to study the environment.
In the same Mariana Trench, we, faced with some fantastic phenomena that do not fit into our framework ideas about the physical world, and even there, noticing life, for us terrible and incomprehensible, we continue to believe that we are the only sentient beings all over the planet.
There is reason in the depths of the ocean
There are two hypotheses for the existence of reason in the oceans. FROM on the one hand, there may be a terrestrial underwater civilization, most likely, is much older than ours, and therefore more developed. On the other hand, huge colonies can be under water aliens who are well aware that we never (at least least, not soon) we won’t get to them. However, why not assume that both of them are under water and they coexist quite well, because the level of development is more suited to each other than aliens and earthlings living on the surface of the planet.
Orthodox science still denies the existence of mermaids (although they were even caught), cannot explain where they come from in the ocean sea monsters, say, Karadag snakes, trying to keep silent the fact flight departure (and without any noise and water resistance) from the depths of alien ships, and much more.
Throughout the past century, sailors, say, expedition ship “Vladimir Vorobyov” observed in the ocean fantastic circles (spinning wheels) of light reaching into diameter up to several hundred meters.

And here is what the great Tour Heyerdahl who traveled describes across the ocean on his famous Kon-Tiki raft. Near the raft, wrote he, from black water round heads protruded several times and carefully examined us with their sparkling, obviously reasonable eyes. Moreover, it was also some kind of hypnotizing views, from which was somehow uncomfortable. Also we constantly saw in to the depths of strange burning balls that flashed or faded away, like an electric bulb.
One calm night, a luminous object appeared under a raft, which Thor Heyerdahl dubbed the ghost since he took various forms, divided into several parts, again connected. And all this, as if playing, sailed under the sea travelers for several hours, although kept pretty deep under water.
