Every day, many users of the World Wide Web illegally download from the Web and upload movies, TV shows, music to it, books, video games and software. Doing it almost all of us.
Fortunately, officials in Russia do not even threaten Internet pirates reprisal, but abroad recently it has become fashionable to periodically arrange public reprisals against separate similar individuals.
So, the other day a thirty-year-old resident of the Czech Republic was arrested, who for a long time illegally uploaded to the Internet cracked programs. Representatives of the trade association “Business Software Alliance “managed to figure out a man and initiate him detention by law enforcement agencies. The offender is charged distribution of hacked software with which he studied for more than eight years.
Hard to believe, but thanks to Internet piracy, which is the most common thing for hundreds of millions of our inhabitants planet, the unfortunate Czech almost lost everything that he had. Court sentenced the offender to confiscation of property and three years conditional imprisonment. However, the man’s belongings turned out to be not so much to compensate the plaintiff for the damage determined by the court in five million seven hundred thousand crowns (fifteen million rubles, if translated into Russian money).
Then the copyright holders put an ultimatum to the pirate: either he goes to jail, or is removed in social advertising, where tells other similar criminals about what to spread and downloading pirated content is illegal and dangerous. Is it worth it to say that the Czech immediately agreed to the second option. Wherein Business Software Alliance lawyers stipulate that the video must see at least two hundred thousand people.
Fortunately, on the popular YouTube video hosting site, the video already over a million one hundred thousand views, so the Czech pirate managed to escape the prison.
