Israel began to build an underground necropolis in three tiers for burial of newly deceased citizens. The first “city of the dead” erected in the area of the largest cemetery in Jerusalem, or rather say – almost right under it.

Underground cemetery is being built on a relatively deep water – up to sixty meters, that is, with the expectation that the “city of the dead” did not bring any trouble to those living on the surface. However, a place for a modern necropolis was chosen in a mountainous area, relatively far from settlements.
It seems that the experience of the Israelis will be useful for other major cities of the world where the lack of cemeteries is felt more and more, and cremation, as a way to solve this problem, is not so effective: firstly, not all religions of the world accept it, but secondly, even the urn with the ashes of the deceased still requires some places for burial. A virtual cemetery that is already originates on the Internet, although an interesting phenomenon, however far from the urgent material problems of the burial of the deceased.
