In the Russian-language segment of the World Wide Web, the “terrible” is known urban legend of a mystical artifact capable of up to unrecognizable distort human faces. It happened if believe this myth, about a decade ago, somewhere in the middle strip of Russia.
The story begins with the disappearance of a young woman who accompanied her husband to the city through the forest, and not returning back. Then in the same village as if “evaporated” a 62-year-old man who went to collect wild garlic. Before the investigation began to spin, the two disappeared children.
Guardians of the law felt they were dealing with a serial killer, and requested help from the city. The villagers were asked to sit at home and not to interfere with the investigation, but do you keep angry men?

The next morning, a local girl searched near the forest stray goat and witnessed something frightening. By according to the schoolgirl, she was at the abandoned house in the outskirts, surrounded by impenetrable thickets of shrubs and thistles, and suddenly heard someone breathing in tall grass. The alleged maniac was discovered first. He committed suicide suicide, having built for himself something like a guillotine, in which a heavy flat stone fell to the block. With this load he crushed himself the head. The bodies of the killer’s victims were found in the cellar. Two of them were clogged with a stick, and two more, a girl and a pensioner, died from a stop hearts. The madman lived there for about two weeks. He was exhausted and obviously didn’t eat anything. Among the trash in the house was his note with in words:

Naturally, law enforcement officers at first did not understand the meaning of this obscure message. Even more mysterious was that behind the house turned out to be a slide of glass chips, consisting of crushed mirrors. The killer even took a mirror from the powder box he had stolen women and also dragged him into a petty crumb. But on this weirdness far from over.
Mysterious postcard
We decided to try to identify the maniac by fragmented to the skull. The pathologist who took up this case concluded that bone fragments were twice as necessary, and attached to report an approximate reconstruction of the killer’s head, which looked extremely ridiculous and funny. The girl’s lifeless body was found in the same place, she died from heartbreak. The guy committed suicide by jumping into an empty well. His skull was deformed in an incredible way: the upper jaw lengthened and bent so that it reached the eyebrows, spreading in sides of the eye and swallowing the nose, while the lower fused with collarbones. what concerns the girl, her face was disfigured only on one side – with the one that was facing the mirror. Right eye socket and eye the students were impossibly enlarged in her grotesque expression horror. There was no mirror in the room.
The mystical card, having done its job, disappeared
Four days later, the investigator conducting this case did not go to service and sent one of his colleagues voicemail about the following content:
Come to me urgently. I leave the front door open, I myself will be in the bedroom. Do not be afraid of what you see there. I didn’t have to look at this damn postcard. It all happened early in the morning when I woke up and went to shave in the bathroom. It hurts me it wasn’t, and now it’s not at all painful. When the police entered the man’s bedroom, they found him lying on the floor with oilcloth under the head. He shot himself in right ear, clutching to the left pillow. The way it was head, immediately reminded the investigator’s colleagues of his habit to frown. Through the man’s face, from the forehead to the chin, a huge vertical gap in which the mouth, nose and eyes fell. The eyes of the unfortunate were opposite each other, and firing at ear, he knocked out both eyes.
