According to Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, European Central Bank (ECB) gives permission to print EU bills worth zero euros.

Such a unique batch of banknotes of 5 thousand pieces is printed in Germany. Unique banknotes are by no means pure souvenirs with depicting a sailboat of the German Navy “Gorkh Fock II” 1958 release. These are full banknotes with the presence of all degrees of protection and they are printed on special paper, uniform for all banknotes of the European Union. The only thing is that with such money can not buy. Note that in 1961-1990, the image of this the sailboat was decorated with a 10-branded denomination of the German Bundesbank.

The authorities of Germany took such a step in the hope that unique bills will be redeemed by numismatists and collectors at a price not less than 2.5 euros and will become very popular and even valuable among collectors of rare banknotes.
