According to the Air Force publication, Italian scientists the other day stated that in recent years the slope of the famous Pisa tower decreased by 4 centimeters. This is confirmed by careful studies and measurements carried out as part of the program for preservation of this unique historical monument.
Scientists at the University of Pisa report that Italy’s authorities at the turn of the millennium tried to reverse the process of “fall” the bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, highlighting 225 million euros, thanks to which its angle of inclination was reduced by 45 centimeters. This is a great achievement, but the main thing is even in another: the complete destruction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa was suspended.
But scientists did not even suggest that the recovery process the bell tower will continue, so today’s opening gives hope that in the future the tower will fully stand upright.
The Internet reacted to this statement by Italian scientists very skeptical and even with humor, suggesting that Pisa the tower is not lined with government money, but by tourists who, taking pictures near her, they support the structure and thereby gradually level it.
