Psychologists from Flinders University in South Australia did a curious discovery.

According to the researchers, the famous optical illusion under titled “My wife and mother-in-law”, first published in German postcard of 1888, allows you to identify the inner age of a person, first looking at this dual image.

“My wife and mother-in-law” is a black and white drawing, on which, if desired, you can consider the images of a young girl and the ugly old woman. In all likelihood, the unknown author of the illusion depicted his wife as a young lady, and her as an old woman mother.

Australian experts have determined that if you look at the presented image is the first thing you see the girl, then your psychological age below biological. And if your brain immediately recognizes the old woman, then in your heart you are older than your passport (or, by at least, correspond to the years lived).

In the course of this study, there were also such participants who they managed to see a girl and an old woman in the picture. Psychologists have concluded that such individuals have a “floating” internal age, which may vary depending on various external and internal factors.

And who do you see on this optical illusion?

If you are unable to make out one of the images, then give hint: the old woman’s eye and mouth are the girl’s ear and necklace respectively.
