But the most valuable brands are considered “Blue Marvriky” and “Pink Mauritius.” These stamps were issued in 1847, and they were the first postal signs of the British colony of Mauritius. Since in this colony stamps from England have not yet arrived, and the need for them already appeared, its governor William Gomm decided to print own postal signs. And they came out, note in a very small quantity – only 500 copies each. And on them was erroneous inscription of Post Office instead of the laid Post Paid, which makes them especially valuable to philatelists.

It is clear that only a few such brands remained in the world. units, the most valuable brand “Blue Mauritius” officially there are only 12 pieces, two of which are in the collection British Queen Elizabeth II. Pink Mauritius more – 14 pieces. The price of any of these brands has risen to several million dollars. Suffice it to recall that in 2016 year at an auction in Prague, someone (the name of the collector was not disclosed so far) bought the “Blue Mauritius” for 3.7 million euros.
