The sixty-nine-year-old Salvadoran Santiago Sanchez is already in for eighteen years daily digging a hole.
Why is a pensioner doing this? The fact is that in 1998 a resident the Central American state received a mission from God himself, associated with digging this hole in the ground. Sanchez, apparently, himself doesn’t know exactly what result his work will bring, however every day invariably picks up a shovel and descends into dungeon to make it even deeper.
A man wakes up on an alarm at three in the morning to quickly go to your tunnel. Late in the evening he returns to the surface with forty kilograms of earth, sand and stones – you cannot leave them below, otherwise all this work does not have no point.

No one but Santiago knows what the real depth of the pit. In the video below journalist claims to be at least a hundred meters underground and is not going to continue further, since due to lack of air, it is difficult for her to breathe. According to Sanchez, that’s right, because he alone has the right to go down to the bottom artificial cave. That is the will of God.
Surrounding a pensioner relate to his occupation in different ways. Someone believes in the divine purpose of the work of Salvadoran, someone – not. His wife Isabelle, unfortunately, is adjacent to the number of skeptics and considers her husband crazy. Sanchez in response to this only smiles and reports that while the scoffers do not interfere with his work, they are free talk and do whatever they please.
