Italian engineers Alberto Franchi and Marco Ferrari created experimental model of a yacht that moves due to solar energy. The ship is completely environmentally friendly, its sails are made of solar flexible panels. They called the new yacht Helios.

The ship has a length of 55 meters and moves with the help of energy, which sails accumulate. They consist of 2.5 thousand solar silicon panels and have a total area of more than 2,000 square meters and a capacity of 335,355 kilowatts per hour. On sunny days energy is collected and accumulated in batteries located in engine room.

Helios is very suitable for traveling: there are no gear on her deck, which are available on ordinary yachts and prevent passengers from resting. On the the vessel can accommodate eight crew members, ten tourists, two jet ski and two canoes. On the lower deck of the yacht there are small pool and hall equipped with a movie screen.
