Spanish police discovered a hornet’s nest the size of a room

It seems like a world record. Hornet’s nest with a diameter of seven meters was in one of the abandoned houses San Sebastian de la Gomera (Spain) – it occupied one of the rooms almost! This nest was discovered by the police who arrived, reacting to the complaints of the neighbors. Photos from open sources Then the abnormal nest was examined specialists. They assured that ordinary wasps would never to build such a gigantic structure. Most likely suggested experts, this is some kind of migrated species that flew into Europe from Africa. Canary Islands is separated from Morocco by less than a hundred kilometers of water. Apparently, the African wasps really liked a place where no one bothers them and where it never rains, so that they decided to settle here forever.
