Russian ship called “Ivan Vasilievich” began his life in 1897 in St. Petersburg. It was there that was built and launched on this civil ship intended to transport water Russian cargo across the Baltic Sea. Equipped with top steam engine with a range of 2500 miles at a speed of 8 knots, it was relatively sturdy, reliable (its wooden body covered with thick iron plates) and a high-speed vessel. Steamboat did his job perfectly until 1903, when between Relations between the Russian Empire and Japan threatened escalate into war. It was during this turbulent time with conscientious an unexpected and sinister metamorphosis occurred by the sea worker.
So, Russia was approaching war, and “Ivan Vasilievich” was redesigned to supply vessels of the domestic fleet. His should have made a long and dangerous journey in the direction Port Arthur, Manchuria and Vladivostok and deliver supplies to ships there.
… This event, strange and frightening at the same time, happened, when, circling the southern tip of Africa, the ship stopped at Cape Town to replenish coal for the final phase his long journey to the shores of the Far East.
The ship is like someone cursed and inhabited by evil spirits
It was then that something happened to the ship, and the evil first proved itself. It all started quite harmless: members the crew began to feel that someone else was watching all the time behind them, hear the steps when no one was around, and mark a sharp decrease in room temperature. In addition to this it was reported that people experienced an incomprehensible overwhelming alarm, as if a real threat loomed over them. Disagreements and quarrels among members the crew began to erupt for no reason. It could have been to explain the fatigue caused by the hardships of long voyages, but every day the situation became more and more serious and awesome.
One evening, a frightened watchman ran to the captain and reported that he was at the post when he saw some kind on the deck a ghostly figure in a halo of luminous fog. Look at her was unbearably creepy.

And the next evening, the crew suddenly brawled, as as if a wave of madness swept over them. During this brawl alone a man rushed overboard and died. The same thing happened a couple of nights later: as if the devil suddenly moved into the sailors, pushing them towards senseless cruelty. And again one man of his own free will threw himself into the waves to drown in the troubled sea. By the way, after of this the team immediately calmed down.
No one could understand what was happening with the crew. Among the sailors rumors spread that an unclean force had settled on the ship, which intends to kill people. As a result, when the ship reached Vladivostok, a dozen or more people fled from it, just jumping overboard and swimming towards the shore.
Of course, they were detained, placed under armed guard. and again ended up on a damned ship before Ivan Vasilievich “left the port, heading for Hong Kong. On this way another inexplicable fight will happen, another sailor will jump for board and die, another crew member will fall dead from incomprehensible fright … And upon reaching the Hong Kong port, Captain Sven Andrist (Sven Andrist) will commit suicide, after which nothing can stop the team, which together will escape from the ship.
New crews and their tests
Although the deserter sailors had no doubt that “Ivan Vasilyevich “evil forces took over, for the Russian government it there was still a very good ship to which they were invited new crew and captain. The ship went to Sydney (Australia) for a batch of wool. He reached his destination without incident, but upon arrival at the port, the new captain suddenly raised his gun to temple and shot himself. A team that has heard of notoriety “Ivan Vasilyevich”, so scared this strange suicide that She refused to continue swimming. Find a new crew in an understandable way the reason turned out to be very difficult, and it took several months.
Then the doomed Ivan Vasilievich set off again, which this time lay in San Francisco (California, USA). However, madness overtook in turn this team: two sailors died, others – especially violent – were locked in their cabins, and the captain has traditionally fired a bullet in his forehead without waiting Arrival at the port. The surviving crew members panicked and changed course, heading to Russia. There “Ivan Vasilievich” was forever incapacitated and ultimately burned. According to legends, when he was engulfed in flames, from within the ship came no than an incomparable cry and did not subside until the ship completely burned out …
