Sugar really poisons the body person?

“Once upon a time I was a healthy person. At least to me it seemed so. Of course, I felt lethargic throughout the day, but I thought what happens to everyone. I considered the health status of my family members quite normal until an eye-catching article caught my eye data on the effects of sugar on the body. According to the findings a few experts, it’s sugar that is guilty of so many people suffer from obesity and various diseases.

The more I thought about it, the more reasonable I thought the arguments given in the article. One in seven Americans suffers metabolic syndrome. One in three is overweight. The percentage of patients with diabetes is growing rapidly, and cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death.

According to the theory stated in the article, the root of all these, and many other diseases need to be looked for in the presence of a huge amount sugar in our normal diet.

Brilliant idea

I studied this topic along and across and came up with a way out. I decided to arrange an experiment and see how hard it will be my family (I, husband and two of our children 6 and 11 years old) eat only those foods that have no sugar at all.

We excluded any sweets from our diet – regular sugar, honey, molasses, syrups, fruit juices, etc. We refused sugar and alcohol substitutes, which include sugar. The only exception was whole fruits, which were sweet by nature.

As soon as we began to pay attention to the composition, we discovered sugar in the most unexpected foods: bread cakes, sausages, sauces, crackers, mayonnaise, bacon and even in baby food. What for Do they add sugar to all of these foods?

I was very curious how hard it would be to do without sugar and how it ends. I was convinced that giving up sweets will benefit my family. But I could not imagine that the effect will be so wonderful.

After a year without sugar

The effect was not instant and striking, but still quite noticeable: the longer I went without sugar, the better I felt the more energy I had. And if I doubted the cause and effect, then soon happened event that served as proof: my birthday husband.

The agreement was this – during this year we allow ourselves one Once a month, arrange a family dinner with a sugar-containing dessert. If it is a birthday, then the birthday person chooses dessert. By September we everyone noticed that our tastes began to change. In particular, our monthly desserts pleased us less and less.

For my birthday, my husband chose a cake with several layers. sponge cake soaked in banana cream. I have not only not received pleasure from his piece, but could not even finish it. The head became heavy and the heartbeat increased. I felt horrible myself.

I felt better only after I lounged for an hour couch. And I thought that sugar probably always had such an effect on my I’m feeling well, but I didn’t notice this before, because I thought the norm.

After a year has passed, we returned to the usual diet. I counted how many days my children missed school due to illness, and compared the result with the last year in which we lived without sugar. The difference was impressive. Last year my daughter Greta for example I was absent from classes for only two days, and in this – 15.

Of course, we’re no longer going to give up sugar at all, but we greatly reduced its consumption. In particular, we have desserts we allow ourselves only in special cases. My body is very grateful to me for that. Now I’m not afraid that in the middle of the day my energy will run out. And in winter we are not so afraid of the flu as before. But even if one of us gets sick, he’s getting much better faster.

To my great surprise, after a year without sugar, we all feeling healthier and stronger. ”
