An oasis – an island of vegetation around a desert body of water – may represent a small puddle with a pair of bushes, or maybe – a large lake bordered by an entire city with infrastructure and permanent population. There are not so many last ones on our planet, therefore, each of them is very popular among tourists.
Among the many dunes of the majestic Peruvian desert Sechura in the west of the country is an oasis of Huacachina with a small a town in which no more than two hundred people live. Populated a point located around a freshwater reservoir, you can walk along in just five to ten minutes. Thousands of Uacachins annually attracted travelers, athletes and history buffs.

According to an old legend, the beautiful princess was once in the desert and found a small pond in which she decided to wash. The girl was accidentally spotted by a young hunter, and a reservoir in order to shelter the bather from shame, became a hundred times wider, and the folds lying on the coast of the mantle turned into high dunes.
All the delights of the paradise oasis of Huacachin
Near the oasis you can ride on the sandy hills on the boards and SUVs, then go down into the real paradise of the earth and swim by the lake, see museum exhibits of the pre-Columbian era and meet perhaps the most picturesque sunrise and sunset. This settlement serves as a favorite vacation spot for residents of nearby cities and many tourists from all over the planet. The town is nicknamed “Oasis of America”, as US citizens more than others leave here are their hard-earned ones.

A wonderful paradise island to the desert allows you to swim in lake or swim on it in boats. Near Huacachin there are dunes over one hundred and fifty meters high, perfect for driving on sandboards and all-wheel drive buggies. In the evening, travelers usually climb the crests of sand hills to see sitting, a fiery sunset, and then the lights of the town. Here at night you can admire the starry sky or walk along illuminated circular roads the village.
The local economy is entirely dependent on tourists. Despite so much the small size of the village, there are as many as four Hotel with pools and bars. Therefore, if you are not constrained in means, locals will meet you as a native and take care of so that nothing overshadows you a wonderful holiday.

In recent years, the Government of the Republic of Peru has begun to devote Oasis close attention. Water level in a natural lake slowly, not steadily falling, because everything necessary for the city fresh water is taken, as you might guess, from the reservoir. From artificial pools, so beloved by hotel guests, nobody for the sake of ecology is not going to refuse. To look Uakachina remained the same, periodically pumped water from here neighboring town. However, this makes relaxing in a paradise yet more expensive.
The significance of this oasis settlement for Peru is difficult to overestimate. The image of Uakachin can be found even on a national banknote in fifty new salt.
