It all started a few years ago when Stefano and his little son David was relaxing on the beach. To pass the time, our hero and him the offspring began to collect stones off the coast and lay out of them various images in the sand. I liked the game so much to a boy that has turned into a whole ritual, which is now all Stefano’s family practiced almost daily in the warmer months. Time passed, experience gained, mastery improved, fantasy developed – and Italians created increasingly complex and detailed “pictures”.

Of course, Stefano’s works are somewhat naive, sometimes according to experts, proportions are vulgarly violated, but with given that the self-taught artist uses exclusively processed by nature pebbles, such creativity is truly impressive. In addition, the external simplicity of the composition hides difficult process of its execution. Furlani often, for example, holds many hours, looking for two stones that will be perfect match each other in shape, color and size. All this in general makes unique self-taught paintings attractive and even – attractive, why the Italians promise world fame.
