The English city of Rheinford in the north of the country was very unusual funeral ceremony. Pupils and teachers from St. Helena’s private school buried the skeleton with honors, thanks to which many generations of children had the opportunity to study human anatomy.
For fifty years now, students have called him Arthur. Long time it was believed that the skeleton was artificial, however, when the time came replace it with a new plastic product, it suddenly turned out that these are real bones belonging to the person who died about one hundred and fifteen years ago in age fifty to sixty years old.
The school management faced a serious problem: what to do with the skeleton? The director contacted local officials, and those reported that by law human remains are thrown into the trash The container is by no means allowed. The only legal way from to get rid of them – to bring to the earth. Then the school identified the necessary money and organized a full funeral. The bones were placed in a coffin and the black hearse took the remains to the nearest cemetery. During a twenty-minute ceremony, students and teachers lowered the coffin in the grave, also throwing there, as it should be in the UK, the Reds roses. On a modest tombstone it reads: “Here lies the lord Arthur, who passed away around 1900 and bequeathed his the remains of the school of St. Helena. Thank you for many years service. ”
