In the history of mankind there are many cases of the disappearance of entire groups the military. Suffice it to recall the fantastic loss of the British Norfolk Regiment in Turkey on the Golipoli Peninsula during the First World War (1915). Several hundred soldiers suddenly disappeared into some mysterious fog, and no one else ever saw them. And the Turks themselves did not see them, who were immediately accused of abduction of the British. However, the post-war investigation revealed that Turkey has nothing to do with it.
The disappearance of the sailors of a warship
During the period of Russian colonization of Alaska, in 1741 there was a the terrible loss of sailors, considered the most mysterious in all the history of the Russian military fleet. From the ship “St. Paul” to the shore of the american continent set off two boats with well trained and armed sailors. And they had guns and flares. But the sailors landed and … disappeared, as if through land failed.

The disappearance of an entire division in China
This happened in 1937, when China invaded well. the armed and trained army of Japan and literally began smash the Chinese. At the end of that year, the Japanese were already by the Yangtze River and preparing for the invasion of the then capital of China – the city Nanking.
The division went to defend the main bridge across the river. the amount of three thousand Chinese. The soldiers thoroughly dug in and began to wait for the enemy. However the next day, as the division took position at the bridge, communication with her suddenly ceased. Officers immediately went to the bridge to restore communication and find out the situation. Upon returning, they reported to the command that the trenches are empty, while the officers did not find a single killed soldier or at least abandoned weapons, ammunition, traces of the Japanese attack. The whole division seemed to evaporate in no time. Run across to the enemy the Chinese simply could not, because they knew very well that the Japanese prisoners are not spared, but brutally tortured and then killed.
Naturally, soon the Japanese passed through unhindered unguarded bridge and burst into the capital of China. Then happened the famous Nanjing massacre, during which more than three hundred died thousands of Chinese, and not only the military, since this is an invasion accompanied by massive rape, looting and the invisible cruelty of the Japanese towards the civilian population.
Already later the Kuomintang, and then replaced it Chinese Communist leadership tried to thoroughly investigate the fact of the disappearance of the whole division, but the conclusions of the commissions every time just discouraged: all three thousand soldiers and officers disappeared without a single trace, as if they had been abducted by some forces possessing fantastic opportunities.
