Muscovite Valentina Titkova can rightfully be attributed to such compassionate people, although she did not save a single homeless dog or kitty. Nevertheless, she saves … abandoned plants, believing that these unfortunate creatures are also intelligent and feelings, like animals, suffer, love and live in hope, like all things on this earth.
Her first saved plant was a lemon that her neighbors threw. in a cold porch, moving to a new apartment. It was January and lemon – this is a southern handsome man – slowly died from a cold. Valentine took pity on the little thing and with her husband dragged a tub with a plant to your apartment.
Kadka was old and very bulky, so the places demanded a lot, but the lemon itself reminded the woman of her childhood, in which also had a large lemon tree standing on a loggia, surprised the girl with its golden fruits, which it is generous gave every year.
In the summer, Valentina took a lemon to the cottage, giving him an excellent windless place near the barn. In the open air under the sun the lemon literally blossomed, that is, spread its mighty branches, released a few fresh ones that soon covered themselves healthy dark green leaves.

The most amazing thing is that next to the lemon in his tub suddenly a sprout of a maple appeared: apparently the grain was drifted by the wind. And lemon from this neighborhood became even more beautiful, as if someone had breathed into it extra vitality. This summer lasted amazing friendship of two completely different plants, so much so that, as they say, do not spill water.
But then misfortune happened: the barn caught fire, near which stood tub with lemon. In the confusion of extinguishing the fire, the lemon was remembered in last turn. Fortunately, both plants in the tub are not particularly suffered, although the leaves of lemon were slightly burnt and curled up from the heat fire into the straw.
Plants know how to be friends and love
Valentina bought a new spacious bowl for a lemon tree, and maple transplanted to the site. Then the cold soon arrived, it was time to leave the cottage, but because the lemon had to be taken away again to the Moscow apartment. The woman faithfully looked after the whole winter plant, and, thank God, he successfully lived until spring, to warm days when you could again go out of town.

In the country, Valentina put a lemon next to a new shed, built husband instead of burned. It seemed again on fresh in the air and under the warm sun the plant should have been, as in last summer, spread branches and bloom. But it was not there: the lemon suddenly began to literally wither and dry. What nothing a woman did in order to save the plant – nothing helped, his the leaves more and more curled into tubules, turned yellow and fell off …
Valentine in the shower had already said goodbye to the lemon, but at some point it occurred to her to rearrange the plant to the maple with which the lemon so made friends last summer – after all, they almost died from fire together. Maple by that time, it should be noted, has grown, turning into a slender tree.

And what’s surprising: as soon as the lemon was next to the maple, he immediately came to life and again turned green, and moreover, as violently as a maple poured his young strength into it! So tell me after that plants do not have the mind and feelings that they do not know how be in love!
Since then, Valentina Titkova has saved more than one abandoned plant, however, the story of the lemon she saved, his friendship with maple, is a special case.
