Three-meter worm – creepy underwater predator

We know very little about the inhabitants of the underwater world, especially those who dwells in great depths where, as suggested researchers, there are real monsters. However creepy creatures able to “decorate” the coolest horror movie, you can meet and at a depth of ten to thirty meters.

In this range of sea depths (less often in shallow water, although this happens) the three-meter-long predator worm Eunice aphroditois lives. This is a real creepy monster (in appearance), which has a terrible mouth with sharp teeth with which he can literally “cut” a fish floating above him in half.

The worm hides in the soil of the bottom, exposing only its terrible a jaw that is not particularly striking because it merges with surrounding paints of a bottom surface. But as soon as you gape the fish is over this mouth, a creepy monster rushes sharply at the victim and instantly drags her into his lair.

In this case, the chance of salvation in fish is small, unless, of course, the worm pulls it out with his teeth, because they are not only sharp and coupled with throwing speed deadly, but also poisonous, paralyzing even large fish that can break out of the mouth of this monster.

By the way, along with the sand and stones of such a monster (his offspring) can be completely entered into the aquarium. The most amazing case of this plan occurred in 2009 at the Cornwall County Aquarium Great Britain. Aquarium staff at some point noticed that someone began to destroy aquarium fish. Neither traps nor hooks with fishing line on this mysterious fish-eater did not act, so I even had to disassemble the exhibition, after which the employees of the aquarium and discovered this predatory worm with powerful jaws and sharp poisonous teeth.

Eunice aphroditois was transplanted into a separate aquarium, since such a predator simply could not but arouse the curiosity of visitors, and hence their inflow. Unofficially, the British called the sea worm Bobbit (in honor of Lorena Bobbit, who in 1996 bit a penis to your husband).

These predator worms live in the warm waters of both the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, there are no cases of attacks on humans yet noticed. However, watching a video about this monster, involuntarily you’ll think whether it’s worth going to the beaches of the warm seas and especially diving in those parts? ..
