Is it possible to predict traffic jams and road traffic incident? It turns out – maybe. At least this an attempt was made by Yandex, who developed an integrated card such “predictions.”
The order for such forecasts was made by the Federal Highway Agency – Rosavtodor, thanks to which the program was born Yandex Data Factory project. While she is working in testing, however, as programmers assure, she is now ready provide real assistance in any unpleasant situations on the roads.
Currently, such an “all-seeing eye” is covered a little more two thousand kilometers of highways. These roads are divided into special segments on which the speed of movement of vehicles is calculated and the likelihood of accidents for several hours ahead.
Already the first test showed that the probability of accidents, according to program data, thirty times higher than that people predict using conventional analysis.
In addition to an accident, a program developed by the Yandex Data Factory project It will be very useful for urban utilities, which thanks to her, they can plan movement more efficiently special equipment involved in street cleaning.
