Despite the apparent over-exploration of our planet, then it there, then suddenly there are new animals, insects, plants, fish and so on. So this time, scientists were lucky stumble upon an amazing view of amphibian in Ecuador.

A transforming frog, as she was immediately christened jokingly researchers, received an official name – Pristimantis mutabilis. A this amphibian resembled a transformer in that it could pretty quickly not only change the color of your skin, but also its structure – therefore changed (transformed) the whole appearance of this unique amphibian.

This frog living in the Ecuadorian Andes is very tiny, not more than two and a half centimeters, she has her outer shell able to change completely in five to six minutes, turning for example, from yellow-green and smooth-skinned to dirty brown and lumpy, more like some kind of dried leaf than amphibian.

It should be noted that the color of your skin can change many animals, but in order to transform also – with such a case biologists have come across for the first time. This made scientists think about mechanism of such changes. After all, having studied it, you can still open one of the many natural secrets that may turn out to be beneficial to humans. (By the way, you know that poisonous frogs help from icing planes?)

This is exactly what biologists wrote in the publication Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, which, incidentally, published and photos of an amazing amphibian – a transforming frog.
