Finnish treasure divers found near Åland islands in the Baltic Sea a real treasure – an orphan load of copper worth at least one million euros.

Copper was aboard the Kantava steamer, which sank here in 1925. Researchers connected to this case easily identified the ship according to the remains, comparing them with the drawings of this court, especially since the coordinates of his death also coincide.

According to international law, the goods belong to the owners steamer, but if they are not found, then it can raise those who found it, then only within a hundred years after flooding vessel. That is, if the “copper treasure” is not raised from the bottom of the sea to 2025, it will become the cultural heritage of the underwater world of countries with jurisdiction over the maritime territory, where the ship Kantava sank, – autonomy Åland (Finland).

The treasure is actually interesting. First, the quantity of copper itself 290 tons cost about a million eurodollars, secondly, from it You can make more than one dozen kilograms of gold. The fact is that at the time of transportation of this cargo in the world they still did not know how to separate copper from precious metal.

By the way, the Aland Islands are better known now as a place wonderful fishing and sailing. It turns out, and underwater treasure hunters have something to profit from here …
