In the XV century, a princess of one of the German clans gathered suddenly in a nun, but the kind of welfare needed support, and was calculation for marriage. In the end, the princess was temporarily walled up in some “remote corner” of a huge castle. To her, as if in cell, was isolated from the outside world, as if according to his views on spiritual destiny. When it’s time to return according to God’s light, presumably changing her mind, it turned out, according to the legend that the mason, the only one who knew exactly where she was immured, by mistake it was executed. The princess was not found. With time the legend no longer needed any justification, as if outgrown it.

And nowadays, a translucent girl wanders around the castle at night, as if looking for someone. Suppose she thought better of it and agrees marry. That only then can she finally leave this the world, probably, together with his chosen one. But it looks like a princess picky. In this castle, Chabort has already disappeared. researchers – trying to find the secret room where the bride was walled up. And the missing researchers also became part legends. And the ghost wanders around – “the princess chooses the groom.” To expel a ghost is a troublesome business, but a castle will lose value, and it happens, that another ghost, having survived even the castle itself, wanders among the ruins. So, in Scotland, on the ruins of towers and walls, erected in the XIII century (near Newcastleton) still lives a certain Redcap Sly – the family ghost of the Lords of Soulis. This place has long been considered sinister: once, under mysterious circumstances, died here some kind of scottish queen. However, this is unlikely to be associated with the advent of the family spirit of the Lords Soulis. They say that Redcap Sly – a terrible old man, toothless, but with the remaining fangs. For the first time, he appeared before Lord Samuel Soulis, who was warlock and made human sacrifices during clandestine rites in the dungeons of the castle. Whether the spirit had a prototype is unknown. It is believed that the “old Redcap” did not resemble any of the Soulis clan. Perhaps the spirit was accidentally summoned by the Lord from “nothingness” during witchcraft action. Say in parentheses, there are cases when the sorcerer became a victim of his brainchild. Documented recorded that in 733 in Damascus in broad daylight at the market square warlock Abu al Hazred was literally torn apart by someone invisible. Lord Samuel Soulis tried to subdue his spirit, but, by legend, only a triple twisted sand rope could hold it, and the lord went nuts trying to make him. Still crazy the lord wrote in his will that he still managed to cope with “old Redcap” that he walled up a ghost in the wall. And so now, centuries after the wall collapsed, Redcap Sly wanders around the ruins. Glamis Castle seems to absorb other people’s legends in such a way the assassination of King Malcolm II, who ruled in the 11th century, for some reason they now associate it with a castle built three hundred years later. Although, it would seem, Glamis Castle has enough of its terrible legends. Many legends keep the castle of Glamis in its walls. Constantly shrouded in fogs, but also as if ghostly. Built in XIV century, this castle is inhabited, however, and now, but almost equally populated by both humans and ghosts.

It is believed that it was here that Macbeth killed King Duncan, because Shakespeare mentions this castle. It is believed that the spirit of Macbeth is still notice in one of the windows. The castle is interesting, by the way, and the fact that there are more windows outside than inside, and maybe some of them ghostly too. Isn’t Macbeth appearing in such? In the castle there is also ghostly vampire: long ago, one of the maids was caught – when she drank blood from her mistress at night. And, as usual, she was walled up in secret room, but, according to legend, the vampire maid did not die, but fell asleep. One day someone will find and wake her, but for now, through the castle her ghost wanders. There are other ghosts of the unknown origin. “Jacques the runner”, sweeping the alley along the castle – perhaps some messenger who never delivered report. Some kind of “gray ladies” appearing – one after another – from the little chapel. In the family of Strathmore, the owners of this castle, almost nowadays, in the XIX century, a freak was born – “Monster Glamis “, under this name and he gained fame. As the first-born, he was the rightful heir to the title and fortune. But for a long time it is unclear whether the little monster will survive? And while they decided to hide it in a secret room. Three people knew about its existence – the count himself, family lawyer and manager. Soon a second son was born, who entered, after all, into inheritance rights. And the monster grew between thus and even eventually covered with sparse hair. This legend different versions. The monster survived several generations of the family Strathmore. Each heir on the day of adulthood received “gift”: he was shown a monster – the true heir to the title and condition.

It is said that the monster lived an amazingly long time and died in 1921, or in 1941. Rumors about him went a long time … Back in 1880 In the year the newspaper wrote that the chimney sweep noticed a pipe bend over the fireplace, leaving into a blank wall, and discovered that he should not detect – a secret room in the depths of the castle. He met terrible guest and reported it to the manager. Chimney sweep disappeared without a trace, and there were rumors that the Strathmore handed him over “non-pecuniary damage” good compensation and ticket to Australia. “Not get into family legends. Build your castle, and the descendants, you look, and get a legend. “According to another version, every freak was born the first-born of this family – this is how the longevity of the monster was explained.
