Almost all people consider dolphins to be the most intelligent animals. (after man) on Earth, and some idealize them so much that they even ask the question: why then are these clever smart women did not create your own civilization?
On the Internet you can find about this very entertaining the answer, they say, dolphins live in an ideal world for them, where they there are actually no real enemies (apart from people, of course, enough recall the massive slaughter of dolphins in Japan near the village of Taiji or in Denmark on the Faroe Islands). Moreover, the ocean occupies more than two third of the globe, and this is only by area, if not even taken water volume (i.e. dolphin habitat) volumetric, in contrast to our flat).

And in this comfortable and almost limitless space, where there is plenty of food and other pleasures, these marine clever people live, not knowing neither housing problems, nor money with speculative banks, nor armies and prisons, no temples and other nonsense, which entangled themselves people hand, foot, and even head.
Everything seems to be true, but true only from the point of view of the layman, who knows only good things about dolphins, because they write about bad things small, and it remains as if behind the scenes – only for narrowly targeted specialists. And these experts who study life and habits dolphins argue that dolphins are not so cute and harmless animals that they, like everything living on Earth, are inherent in both sides of moral behavior – light and dark. I.e dolphins can be not only smart, friendly and responsive, but also insidious, nasty and even disgusting.
Dolphins practice gang rape
A fierce struggle for females, especially during the mating season, makes male dolphins are not only aggressive, but also cruelly insidious. They, unlike other animals of our planet, do not fight for a female among themselves, but they gather in flocks and literally arrange group violence against this female.

One of the leading researchers in the life of dolphins, Professor Connor writes that males gather in groups of at least two to three individuals, and literally begin to hunt a female, which often does not burn the desire to mate. Of course, the victim of such harassment you only have to run away, sometimes overcoming distances of tens kilometers. But this rarely saves the female, males still catch her, they beat their head painfully, flying onto the body with great speed, they beat tails, bite and, in the end, exhausted – raped.

The female may be attacked for rape with the males of many alliances, and not only during the mating season, almost any time of the year. And protection, except flight, she has there is no, because there are no institutions for fencing in the ocean her from a similar crime (from our point of view). By the way large groups of males, sometimes reaching up to two dozen individuals, can completely kill the female during such sexual “fun” that happens much more often than one can imagine …
Dolphins prone to infanticide
Dolphins are often found ashore, for example, in 1997 on the beaches of the US state of Virginia, several dozens of these animals. As Professor Connor writes, they are all turned out to be young, at first glance it was not even clear that made them jump ashore and die. But with careful examination revealed that these animals were subjected to severe beating by their older brothers. They had strong head injuries, broken ribs, torn lungs and others insides, which led to death. Ashore dolphins already thrown out of despair, not knowing how to escape from violence their adult relatives.

Connor also observed such a glaring case from our point of view, when an adult dolphin was literally played by a small cub, tossing him into the air, and until the dolphin has died. And such cases, when the kids are attacked with the side of adult males is practiced with dolphins quite often. According to the professor, he only once saw how small the dolphin managed to escape, as they say, in most cases it all ends tragically.
The question is, why in the world does dolphin practice infanticide? And everything is again explained by the sexual needs of the males. Killing the cub, the male thereby condemns the female to repeated pairing. Of course, dolphins do not kill children of their alliance, however, this does not at all justify their cruelty. Not by chance female dolphins often specifically try to mate with males different alliances, making it difficult for the latter to determine their or not their children, which reduces the likelihood of infanticide, which means and the threat of extinction of dolphins in general. These are so wild and cruel mores …
No accidental incest in the world of dolphins
Unlike many other animals, dolphins are smart and good. versed in kinship. However, this does not bother them. mate with immediate family members, such as a sister, mother, own daughter. Of course, all this can be justified by that dolphins are not aware of the incest theory and its consequences on progeny.

However, in addition to knowledge, in any highly developed community there is a concept of kinship that rejects incest as a way of reproduction. Dolphins do not have such a rule (law), moreover, Connor and his colleagues based on numerous observations concluded that the incest in the world of these smart marine animals is far not accidental, it is practiced all around. What turns out: or dolphins are not so smart, as we think, not so highly moral, as we think of them, or we misunderstand something in the lifestyle of these mysterious marine animals and simply climb into another monastery with its own charter?

But if so, why do we idealize their world in which violence and murders also flourish, as in ours? Moreover, we see (we can observe and study) only a small part of the life of these “smart women” – mysterious, cute, insidious and cruel at the same time …
