Scientists intend to combine their efforts with the famous confectionery Mars to begin work on genetics modified cocoa tree that can grow in hotter and dry climate. If such a variety is not obtained, then chocolate trees will soon grow only in the mountains. Due to high deficit the cost of cocoa powder and cocoa butter will increase many times over, and chocolate will turn into a real delicacy, like, say, black caviar or squid. And then, perhaps, it will disappear altogether. At least for 90 percent of the world’s population …
