Chocolate will disappear soon from the diet of earthlings

Humanity may be worth enjoying at the moment
chocolate and other cocoa products, since
foreseeable future, they may disappear from the earth. Employees
University of California conducted a study and found that
by 2050, our planet is likely to stop growing
chocolate trees. These evergreens of the genus Theobrom
stop growing in the tropics due to global change
climate.

Cocoa trees grow exclusively in narrow strips of rain
forests to twenty degrees north and south of the equator. Today
global warming is causing forests of chocolate trees
rapidly disappear. At this rate in just 32 years man
there will be nowhere to get cocoa powder and cocoa butter, which are
integral ingredients of all adorable chocolate. In real
currently, the two largest cocoa producers are Côte d’Ivoire
and Ghana, however local farmers say that due to heavy
climatic conditions they will not be able to grow it in the coming
years

Scientists intend to combine their efforts with the famous confectionery
Mars Corporation to begin work on the creation of genetically
modified cocoa tree that can grow in hotter
and dry climates. If this variety is not obtained, then chocolate
trees will soon grow only in the mountains. Due to high deficit
the cost of cocoa powder and cocoa butter will increase many times, and
chocolate will turn into a real delicacy, like, say, caviar
or squid. And then, perhaps, disappear altogether. At least
for 90 percent of the world’s population …
