New Jersey Inventors Develop New Cleaning Method sea water. This filter operates on the basis of a thin membrane. from wood. It is reported by the FAN publication.
To date, experts have used the membrane method distillation. Then sea water was filtered through a film of polymer, which allowed only water molecules to pass through. Developed method on based wood has improved the filtration process.
To use wood, it is pre-treated special chemical composition that separates the filter fibers. Subsequently, one side of the filter is heated through the pores, and ingested salt just settles on the other cold side filter.
Scientists reported that in this way they managed to filter about 20 kilograms of sea water. The researchers also specified that device performance can be increased if done the filter is even thinner.
