Physicist Gurav Khanna from the University of Massachusetts created from two hundred PlayStation 3 supercomputer for modeling behavior black holes. Guraw started in 2007 with 16 consoles, and then bought new as soon as the money appeared. The scientist opted for PS3 due to the relative cheapness of consoles, convenient architecture Cell processor, as well as the ability to set your own operating system. Goraw notes that even today, despite technological progress, far from all scientists can get access to established by authorities and large corporations supercomputers – so you have to look for alternative exits.
