73-year-old American theoretical physicist, academician and writer Ronald Mallett, a professor at the University of Connecticut, intends to build a real time machine. And this is far from an ambitious project, rather a humane one.
The main goal of this project is an authoritative professor saving the life of his own father, who was a heavy smoker and died of a heart attack when our hero was still a child. A year after the death of a parent, Mallett read the famous Herbert Wells’ science fiction novel, The Time Machine, and the book amazed him so much that he decided to devote his life invention of a device for traveling into the past and the future.
Surprisingly, a theoretical physicist has already created a prototype his time machine. The strange machine is special cylinder with many laser emitters designed to to bend the space inside the structure. According to Mallett, space and time are inextricably linked with each other, therefore distorting one will certainly lead to distortion of another.
Presumably, the professor has already managed through his devices send a signal in the form of a binary code to the past. Alas, colossal resources will be required to send matter there which mankind currently simply does not have. However it is not stops a stubborn scientist who reasonably believes that there must necessarily be a very low cost energy solution. No wonder they say that everything ingenious – simply.
