Hu Fanbin, a surgeon from the People’s Republic of China, showed miracles of self-sacrifice and endurance, conducting a complex operation on open heart.
A forty-nine-year-old physician working in Jingjiang’s hospital, felt intense pain in the chest during surgery an elderly man on the surgical table after myocardial infarction. If a doctor is replaced, the risk of patient death would increase significantly, because Fanbin preferred to bring what he started to the end. Colleagues injected Dr. Morphine, which allowed him to successfully complete the operation.
After that, colleagues examined Hu and, with horror, realized that an aneurysm (pathological protrusion of the wall) aorta. The doctor needed a complex operation that others specialists soon completed. The courageous surgeon lay under with a colleague’s scalpel for about twenty hours – he had to transplant a fifteen-centimeter part of a blood vessel from hips. Now, according to local journalists, the doctor is slowly but steadily recovering.
After the operation, Hu colleagues hastened to tell representatives the press how heroically the man behaved by putting in danger own life so as not to put too much risk someone else’s.
The aorta is known to be the largest artery in the human body. Ninety percent of her damage is fatal. Fortunately fellow workers Fangbin quickly cooperated and saved the life of a colleague.
