Tired of the autonomy of government spies, some people decided to take matters into their own hands, and are currently creating from scratch the new Internet that its users will own using mesh network technology.
These wireless networks are designed to provide secure connecting without the risk of surveillance, and without any centralized organization.
Each node in a mesh network consisting of a radio transceiver and computer, transmits data from other parts of the network. If no data can go along one path, the mesh network will find another for them.
“Hyperboria”, the virtual layer that underlies the attempts creating a mesh network in the USA, is a virtual network, since it works on the basis of the existing Internet, but entirely completely based on peer-to-peer scheme. That means his users exchange information directly, using fully encrypted connection that does not leave anything possible read to any centralized server.
When new mesh nodes are installed, existing Hyperboria connections simply include them in their paths data.
