French aircraft manufacturer Airbus has patented design of a passenger hypersonic aircraft with a strange by design. If the design engineers succeed, and the plane really will be manufactured, innovative aircraft will be able to reach speeds exceeding four and a half times the speed of sound is five thousand five hundred kilometers per hour.
Wings of a supersonic aircraft designed by engineers “Airbus” will resemble the shape of a Gothic triangle. To them and to the body of the air liner located under the wings will be hydrogen engines are mounted. Depending on how flight should be fast, the aircraft will use one of the three available varieties of hydrogen fuel. The liner will be vertically rise to a height of thirty kilometers, then switch to horizontal flight mode at supersonic speed. The moment the aircraft overcomes the sound barrier, a special mechanism will turn on, reducing the noise to to a minimum.
The French report that the number of seats in the airliner will be only twenty pieces. The aircraft will be assigned to the VIP category – wealthy businessmen who will fly on it it’s necessary, say, to visit the city in another day point of the planet and come back. From Paris to Los Angeles a unique liner will fly in just three hours. At the same time, the cost one such ticket will amount to over a thousand dollars.
