The American startup company “Modern Meadow” reports that develops technology for creating artificial meat, printed on a three-dimensional bio-printer. In 3D printing Dense objects are created from a digital model. 3D printing principle known for over ten years and scientists even managed to create with it using some types of food – like chocolate. But bioprinting there is the creation of a part of a living being, it is much more complex task. “We print live material – cells are alive when we working with them, “says Professor Gabor Forgaks, Founder Modern Meadow. “When you want to create a living organ, you we must take care of the satisfaction of a zillion different conditions. ” To create meat, scientists first get stem or other specialized animal cells using a traditional biopsy. Then the resulting cells are subjected to division, and as soon as their number will be enough, put them in a biocartridge. Thus, instead of traditional ink or material like plastic, The 3D bioprinter is charged with so-called bio-ink, consisting of hundreds of thousands of living cells. When they form the desired shape from them, bio ink particles fuse to form living tissue. Received artificial meat samples are not yet suitable for consumption, but the process is developing rapidly. As soon as its printing technology will be optimized, manufacturers will need to solve problems “status” of their products and meat production in industrial scales needed to meet nutritional needs of humanity.
