American police officers caught an elderly citizen who escaped fifty-seven years ago from prison and since then officially was on the run. The man undoubtedly managed to set a record among the fugitives recaptured in the USA.
In 1957, twenty-two-year-old Frank Freshwater, born in Ohio, hit by a pedestrian in Florida to death. Young man found guilty without extenuating circumstances and sentenced to twenty years in prison. Demonstrating in prison calm behavior, Frank deserved softer conditions and two years later he fled while collecting sugar beets.
Guardians of the Law Could Not Catch Freshwater Nearly Six decades. All this time, the criminal lived under false names, earning, according to him, a bus driver, a locksmith and refueling cars.
To catch the fugitive, Florida police officers went to the trick. They tracked down Frank, but they had no reason to arrest. TO the man’s appearance has changed significantly in fifty-seven years and did not match the photograph under arrest. Staff law enforcement changed into a civilian and visited the trailer Freshwater asking to sign a fictional petition. Man made this and then the cops checked his fingerprints on notepad.
Now the fugitive criminal has to sit his time in the prison. Perhaps the authorities will take pity on the older man and knock off him a term. Frank said that he sincerely repents of unintentional murder and, of course, deserves punishment. But about the flight he does not regret at all, as this allowed him almost the entire his life to be a free American citizen who escaped at the very their best years in prison and the cops.
