Mary Gannon from Ohio, Lakewood, Ohio without both hands, became a teacher of mathematics in high school, despite the limited physical capabilities. According to the woman, in early childhood, parents abandoned her due to illness. First 7 years of her life she spent in an orphanage in Mexico. At 8, her adopted by an American family, and she moved to live in Ohio.
All her life, the girl dreamed of becoming a teacher, but physical inferiority was this obstacle. Over time, Mary learned perform simple actions only with the help of legs. – I really don’t I love when they call me disabled, ”said Gannon. – It the word carries negative energy. I feel full and with I am doing a great job. After graduating, Mary decided get a job at one of the local schools. School Administration was extremely surprised by Gannon’s abilities: the teacher is free used a computer and wrote on a school board.

– At first, the children thought that she needed constant help, however, Mary showed herself as a true specialist, – assured math colleague. – Of course, she is the best teacher not only in our school, but throughout the district. Disability did not stop Mary in intention to get a driver’s license: a woman sits alone driving and gets to work in a personal car. -The teacher inspires us daily and shows us an example that everyone should learn to overcome difficulties and go to the goal, despite the obstacles, – shared one of Mary’s students, Jaden Johnson.
