Researchers at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory The University of Zurich is preparing for the birth of its new offspring – an artificial humanoid, which has already been given the name Roba. Robomalchik must be born in nine months – just like present. It really will be very similar to the present. One of Roboy’s main features will be, for example, the propulsion system, which will function through artificial tendons, similar to human. So the robot will move almost with the same grace as a man. And of course, since Roboy scientists have to share living space with a man, scientists concerned primarily with making him “friendly” and safe to use. Particular attention is paid to “softness” – delicate skin texture, lack of any sharpness, natural movement, nice expression … Roba will have to become ours an assistant in a variety of areas – household, hotel business, patient care … In addition, a humanoid robot will allow older people maintain independence much longer. Today over the creation of Roboy continues to work 40 scientists and engineers at support of 15 partner companies. First appearance in the world Robomalchik is scheduled for March 2013.
