Despite the serious and far from unfounded warnings of some scientists about the dangers of AI, others researchers continue to improve robots. As the magazine writes Science, the other day, artificial intelligence demonstrated abstract thinking, peculiar only to man, winning poker professionals in this game have two million dollars.
Here’s how one of the poker developers comments on this. player Libratus Noah Brown (Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh):
The complexity of the game “Texas Hold’em” is just in that everyone sitting at the poker table, including a robot, not enough data. AI, like other players, could use only by the fact that he has “on hand” – the rest is the ability analyze exclusively everything, including behavior rivals. And this is almost abstract thinking, inherent only to man. At least that was thought before …
This was made possible thanks to the fact that developers Noah Brown and Tuomas Sandholm invested in their system Libratus ability analyze the moves of opponents, and the most unexpected ones, which didn’t correspond, for example, to the AI’s idea of the game scenario. A successful moves were immediately recorded by the robot in the “strategy bank”. Thanks to this artificial intelligence, we managed to beat the most seasoned players Don Kim, Jimmy Chow, Daniel Macowley and Jason The woods. Having won two million dollars, the Libratus system left rivals only 200 thousand dollars – 10 percent of the prize fund.
And this is not the first AI record, for example, more recently, the system AlphaGo Zero defeated the best chess player in Europe, as well as the strongest bot in Japanese chess, spending only 4 on training hours.
What’s interesting is another statement by Noah Brown:
Do not think that Libratus is exclusively “talented” poker player, the ability to think abstractly for AI – this is the possibility of using it in various fields of human activities where you need to take not only fast, but also Intuitively unique solutions. It is believed that only man, scooping such decisions almost from the Databank of the Universe. But is it? In fact, the “insight” of a person is akin to skill quickly analyze previous experience and isolate from it the best for this situation. Libratus can do the same, only significantly faster and more accurate. That’s all…
