An international team of experts has identified a decline in population almost a third of insects, which indicates a detrimental effect human activities on the biosphere. And this applies not only pesticide-treated fields, but also forests and other protected natural areas. Informs Phys.org.
Scientists have studied more than a million insects (2700 species) in three hundred sites, and it turned out that over the past decade, the number insects decreased significantly. And some types insects generally disappeared from their former habitats. Eventually, the number of arthropods in forests decreased by 40 percent, and in the fields up to 1/3.
Researchers have discovered insect extinction in all types forests and fields that were studied by the group researchers. And it touched untouched activities human territories.
Regarding the reduction in the number of insects, scientists express their alarming. If the trend continues, it is difficult to imagine how the world around us will change in the coming years.
