The “Chairless Chair” is an almost magical chair that not visible, but which occurs at the moment when it is to you it took. You wear it like an exoskeleton – when it’s not activated, you can freely walk and even run. And in the right moment is enough to press the button – it will take the right form, and you can sit on it.

The chair never comes in contact with the ground and is therefore easy wear: a belt attaches it to the hips, and ribbons cover the ankles. It is enough for the user to move to the desired position and turn on a device that in its current modification is able to work 24 hours on one 6V battery.

Chairless Chair attracted a lot of attention, and testing a new devices will start at BMW factories in Germany in September, and at Audi factories later this year.

While sedentary work is so detrimental to health, which can shorten life expectancy standing at work all day is also a source of serious problems. Chairless Chair is an innovative approach to this the problem that today they are trying to solve mainly through improved workplace ergonomics.

Aluminum and carbon fiber chair design allows Chairless Chair weigh only 2 kilograms, so it is not strong burdens its user, and extremely slightly limits his freedom of movement. And in the future it may be equipped with smart motors capable of anticipating the intentions of the wearer and offering him an optimal sitting position, even without direct control.
