There is no doubt that the new discovery of scientists from People’s Republic of China deserves the most thorough studying.
Specialists Jie Zhang and Jing Liu Lei from Xinhua University the result of numerous experiments created a very unusual metal. The unique alloy of tin, indium and gallium possesses the ability to move independently and change their shape. True, for this substance needs a source of energy.
Recall that indium becomes liquid at a temperature of one hundred fifty six degrees centigrade, and gallium at twenty nine degrees. Alloy obtained by Chinese scientists liquefies at room temperature, and its surface tension at the same time is five hundred millinewtons per meter. If put wonder metal on a flat surface, it takes the form of a sphere.
But the most interesting is not this. When dipping alloy in saline and adding microscopic aluminum chips, intense oxygen evolution, and metal the sphere begins to move. Thus, aluminum acts in as a kind of fuel that liquid metal absorbs for movement. A drop can do the most routes, overcoming tiny climbs, turning around corners and making zigzag movements. You might even think that metal possesses consciousness and chooses where to go.
The super-technological robot “T-1000” from the action movie “Terminator 2: Doomsday.” Who knows, maybe someday scientists will be able to create a truly smart metal capable of bringing irreplaceable benefits to humanity.
