About 50 people affected Ontake volcanic eruptions in Japanese prefecture Nagano About 50 people were affected by the ontake eruption in Japan’s Nagano Prefecture, RIA Novosti reports with reference to tv channel NHK. The condition of some victims is assessed as heavy. Seven people were found unconscious. According to rescuers, more than 30 people have a cardiac arrest, however, there is no official conclusion on their death. To the moment Ontake eruptions on its slopes were more than 250 people; to Sunday morning over 30 were considered missing.

About 550 soldiers, police and firefighters take part in rescue operations for tourists on the slope of Ontake, reports “Interfax”. However, around 2 p.m. local time (10 a.m. Moscow time) search and rescue operation was suspended due to high concentration of toxic gases.

Since the beginning of the eruption, Japanese clinics have received more than 70 requests for hospitalization. According to the media affected by the eruption volcano can be more than 80.
Eruption of Ontake started around noon Saturday. In five hours it was recorded 313 volcanic earthquakes. Within a radius of four kilometers around the volcano a warning was announced about the possible fall of ash and rock fragments. Japan Main Meteorological Agency set the third on a five-point scale hazard level. Last thing Ontake’s eruption was recorded in 2007.
