US researchers say they managed to find a way prolong the life of animals, including, possibly, humans. Scientists conducted an experiment in which they eliminated from organisms of old mice, the so-called “decrepit cells”, devoid of ability to divide. After that, quality and duration rodent lives have increased significantly.
Experts explain that “decrepit cells” thanks the impossibility of dividing accelerates tissue aging, as well as contribute to the development of various ailments up to oncology. When the cell, figuratively speaking, “retires”, it ceases to divide and self-renewing – a special gene is launched in it, which provokes irreversible changes, and as a result structurally functional particle is aging.
The Americans developed a medication, code-named “AP20187”. This medicine can destroy the overwhelming most “decrepit cells” in the body of a living creature. Scientists set a goal to determine what impact the apparatus will have on old mice eating foods with added “AP20187”.
Two weeks later, researchers compared these rodents with their peers who did not receive medication, and found that the number of old cells in the experimental organisms decreased almost eight times. This has led to many impressive changes in the life of animals. Mouse life span increased by a third. Rodents have become more active and alert, in their appetite increased, and even a desire to play with each other appeared friend.
In addition, the authors of the experiment claim that the mice decreased the risk of developing cataracts, cancer and other ailments due to old age.
Currently, American researchers are trying determine if AP20187 can act just as well on older people. Of course, scientists do not have the opportunity experiment in humans, however they hint that they themselves can to volunteer and try the miracle cure on yourself.
